Ridgeback Panorama - 2026
Burrows Burgundy — Reynolds 725 Steel Touring Bike
Some bikes are made to get you from A to B. The Ridgeback Panorama is made for everyone who's already thinking about C, D, and the long way round. Whether you're riding to work through the grey drizzle of a Tuesday morning or setting out on a loaded tour along the Sustrans coast-to-coast, this is a bike that was designed with purpose, then built to last a lifetime.
The Panorama is the flagship of our Trekking range, and that status shows in every component choice. It starts with a Reynolds 725 chromoly steel frame — a material that serious tourers have trusted for decades because it absorbs road vibration, handles load gracefully, and can be repaired almost anywhere in the world. The geometry is relaxed enough for an all-day excursion, yet precise enough that the bike responds crisply when the road demands it.
Lighting on a touring bike should be something you forget about, not something you worry about. We fitted Busch & Müller dynamo lighting front and rear — powered by the Shimano DH-3D32 dynamo hub, the Busch & Müller Briq-S T Senso headlight (60 lux, with standlight function) and Toplight 2C tail light keep you visible without ever needing a battery charge.
Gearing is handled by a full Shimano Cues 2x9-speed drivetrain — a system designed specifically for trekking and urban use, prioritising durability and ease of maintenance. The wide 46/30T chainset paired with an 11-39T cassette gives you a genuine low gear for loaded climbs on the hills of Wales, the Peak District, or further afield, whilst also being fast-enough for main-road miles in between.
Carrying capacity is addressed with an AtranVelo AVS rear rack (27kg limit) and AtranVelo Explorer front rack. Vittoria Randonneur 700x40c tyres are wide enough to absorb rough tarmac and bridleway sections comfortably, with a puncture protection belt that earns its keep.
